A Fianna Fail politician who has passed strict planning laws in Tipperary believes the landscape of Kerry has been damaged by bad planning decisions. Mayor John Hogan and his colleagues in North Tipperary won’t allow anybody build a house unless they’ve lived in the area for ten years. Their new development plan also restricts applicants to a site within five miles of where they live. Mayor Hogan holidays in Kerry every summer and says he’s noticed a change in the countryside.
