A government backbencher in Kerry is reported to be among those who expressed anger at a party meeting about the increases in former minister’s pension this week. Brendan Griffin was one of a number of Fine Gael deputies who condemned the increases at a parliamentary party meeting. The Irish Independent says that several TDs turned on the Taoiseach over the pensions hike for former ministers which were introduced as part of the Lansdowne Road Agreement.
