Organisers of the Rose of Tralee festival say they’re concerned for the safety of Jenna Burkes who represented New Orleans in last week’s competition. It’s not clear if the 21year old student returned to the devastated city but attempts over the past week to contact her by phone and email have failed. Festival Spokesperson Ted Keane says they’re hoping Jenna is safe. Meanwhile it’s emerged the competition’s main organiser in New Orleans, Nora Lambert, has left the city and is in Memphis. Friends in Kerry had feared she might still have been trapped in New Orleans.
