A dozen farmers are protesting outside Bank Of Ireland in Tralee this afternoon. Similar protests are taking place in Mallow and Newcastle West. It’s the latest action by creditor`s owed money since the collapse of Tralee Beef and Lamb in 2001. BankOf Ireland secured a high court injunction before Christmas against two named individuals and anybody else restraining them from picketing their branches. The creditors want the bank to make a contribution to a hardship fund, but Bank Of Ireland say they don’t have any obligation to the farmers.
