Family of murdered Beaufort man angry because killer still at large

The daughter of a man murdered in Beaufort five years ago says the family is angry because there’s been no justice.

58-year-old James Cahillane was violently assaulted at his home in Ardraw, Beaufort on April 19th 2012; his attacker, who was more-than-likely known to him, then set fire to the house in a bid to conceal the crime.

A man and a woman were questioned in 2013, but no charges have been brought.

Yesterday, Killarney Gardaí renewed their appeal for information on the fifth anniversary of the murder.

James Cahillane’s daughter Lisa says there’s fear in the locality that something like this could happen again because the killer is still at large.
