False sighting of missing sailing vessel.

A reported sighting of the missing sailing vessel that left Kenmare bay over a week ago has turned out to be wrong. The French Coastguard received a report that the Inis Mil, with five crew aboard, was seen off the French Coast yesterday. However, a helicopter search revealed it was in fact another boat. Valentia Coastguard says it has had no contact with the 60-foot Irish vessel since it left Templenoe, eight days ago. Irish, French and British coastguards remain on alert. The vessel with five people on board was due to land in the Silly Isles off the English coast as a crew member was due to return to Ireland. They may have decided to travel straight to Le Harve or Ruane in France due to weather conditions.
