FAI Dismiss Stories Linking O’Neill With Forest

Nottingham Forest The FAI say there’s nothing in stories that Ireland boss Martin O’Neill will take over Nottingham Forest. O’Neill, an ex European cup winner with Forest, had been linked to the postion in the aftermath of the sacking of Billy Davies. However, reports in various papers today suggest it’s a non runner. Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has revealed he’s finding it difficult to find a replacement for Billy Davies. Malky Mackay, Steve Clarke and Gianfranco Zola are all on his managerial shortlist but are not able to take up the post in the near future. Some candidates who have been approached are on gardening leave or do not want to take charge with only a handful of fixtures remaining. According to several tabloids disgruntled Manchester United fans will hire a plane as part of their protest against David Moyes. Their intention is to fly the plane over Old Trafford with a “wrong one-Moyes out” banner. It’s in response to not being permitted to take the “Chosen one” banner down in the aftermath of this week’s 3-0 loss to Man City. Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher says their season so far has been a real test of mental strength for the team. The former Arsenal full back has fallen out of favour at Chelsea this season.
