It finished 1 all between St. Patrick’s Athletic and Shelbourne. Dundalk are through to the quarter-finals after a 2-1 win over Galway FC, Derry City won 3-0 against Malahide United, Shamrock Rovers did likewise against Longford Town and Finn Harps are also through to the last eight after they claimed a 2-1 win over Wexford Youths. The Tommy Healy Memorial Cup Final takes place this evening. It’s Mitchels Avenue against Na Fianna from 7 o’clock at Mounthawk Park. In the New Yorkers Over 35s League Dingle Bay Rovers beat Listowel Celtic 3-2 while AC Athletic defeated Atletico Ardfert 4-1. Aston Villa play host to Newcastle in the opening game of the day in the Barclays Premier League. The early start is at 12:45. Of the 3 o’clock games, Chelsea are preparing to take-on newly-promoted side Leicester, managerless Crystal Palace will host fellow London side West Ham, Southampton take on West Brom and Swansea entertain Burnley. In the late kick-off, Everton and Arsenal will go head-to-head at half-past five. Today’s early game in the Championship pits Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich Town against Norwich City at 12:15. Meanwhile, Fulham’s chances of ending their winless start to the new season face tough test as they must travel to Pride Park to take on Derby while early leaders Nottingham Forest are at home to Reading. Fresh from their Champions League play-off draw in Slovenia, Celtic are involved in the opening game today in the Scottish Premiership. The Hoops are away to Inverness today in a 12:30 start.
