It’s going to be Nadal versus Federer once again in the final of a Grand Slam.

Rafael Nadal beat Grigor Dimitrov in a five-set epic earlier, to rech his first final in a slam since 2014.

It was a frustrating 2016 for the Spaniard, and he said today that being out of the game with injury was hard to take

Nadal now goes on to play Roger Federer in the decider on Sunday morning.

It wil be the first grand slam decider between the pair since the final of Roland Garros in 2011.

RUGBY

Ireland under-20 head-coach Nigel Carolan has ruled himself out of the race to succeed Pat Lam at Connacht this summer.

He’s open to applying ‘down the road’ for the position but insists he’s happy continuing in his current role as academy manager at the Sportsground.

He shot a 2-under 70 today to finish up on 7-under, one behind a leading group of 9 golfers including England’s Andy Sullivan.

Graeme McDowell shot a 3-over 75 which brings him to 3-under overall.

Kerry’s Peter Sheehan opened with a 6 over par at the European Seniors Tour Qualifying School.

He’s tied for 19th at the 2 day event and is 6 shots behind top spot.
