Electric Ireland apologises for warning letter addressed to Kerry graveyard

An electricity company has apologised for sending a warning letter addressed to a graveyard in Kerry. Electric Ireland letter Electric Ireland sent the letter to “The Occupant, Killiney Graveyard, Castlegregory.” In it, the company says there’s no customer registered at the address. The letter warns that the occupant needs to register with Electric Ireland, to prevent their electricity supply from being disconnected. Electric Ireland has told Radio Kerry that  the letter addressed to “The Occupant, Killiney Graveyard, Castlegregory” was for a site attached to a large group account which had recently left the company. Electric Ireland says when the sites were moved out, it automatically issued letters to  addresses related to the account. In this instance, the utility says the letters were mistakenly sent to individual accounts rather than to the group address. A spokesperson for Electric Ireland has apologised for the inconvenience caused.
