There are eight new trains scheduled for the Cork Dublin line that will also service passengers on the Killarney route. They will begin an hourly service this winter. The announcement is part of a larger purchase of 67 new train carriages across the country. Over the next three years 223 carriages will hit the rocks covering Galway, limerick, Sligo and Waterford routes. Chairman of Iarnrod Eireann John Lynch says the new trains will provide a more efficient service for Kerry passengers.
