Easter Saturday 1916 commemorative events underway across Kerry

1916 KCC logoA number of 1916 commemorative events get underway around Kerry today. A flagpole ceremony involving tree planting, an historic talk, poetry recital and re-enactment of the surrender of the volunteers, takes place this morning (11am) in Killorglin. Earlier today a programme of lectures got underway in the CYMS in Killorglin while this afternoon, the South Kerry Commemoration walk and talk with Junior Murphy takes place at An Sean Reilig, Cahersiveen. An historical town walk guided by Donal O’Sullivan will be hosted in Killorglin, meeting at Séipeal ar an gCnoc, Market Street, is also scheduled for this afternoon.
