€250,000 allocated for new Gaeltacht centre in west Kerry

Quarter of a million euro in funding is being provided for a new Irish language centre in the west Kerry Gaeltacht. Comharcumann Forbartha Chorca Dhuibhne The Minister for Gaeltacht Affairs, Joe McHugh, allocated the money for the running of the newly opened Lárionad Forbartha Gaeilge agus Gaeltachta in Ballyferriter. The centre – which opened at the end of June and cost €3.5 million to develop – includes a family support centre, pre-school facilities and three enterprise units. The announcement has been welcomed by Deputy Brendan Griffin and Senator Marie Moloney.
