Don’t travel to South America, Kerry obstetrician urges pregnant women

Kerry women who’re currently pregnant or are planning to get pregnant, shouldn’t worry about the Zika virus – unless they’ve recently visited countries where it’s been detected. Zika has been linked to brain damage in a large number of babies born to women in Brazil, who were pregnant when they contracted the virus. Concerns about the disease were heightened earlier today, when it emerged that two people in Ireland were diagnosed with Zika.
