The Southern Health Board has confirmed that the doctor at the centre of an investigation by the Medical Council did work at Tralee General Hospital for a period of time. Dr Moore practised as a temporary consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology from the 21st of February 2000 to the 31st of July 2001. The consultant is on leave from Sligo General Hospital pending an investigation by the Medical Council.The North Western Health Board confirmed the governing body was conducting a formal review of Dr Moore. The case is now before the policing body of the medical profession which standards and quality by practitioners. The Council`s disciplinary section, the fitness to practice committee investigates complaints made about the conduct of any registered practitioner. The Southern Health Board says any former patients can contact the hospital if they require any information about the care they received while a patient at Tralee General. The number is 066 / 7184066
