Dingle People of the Year Awards takes place tonight

Mike O'Shea Greenland Ice-Cap The second annual Dingle People of the Year Awards take place tonight. The awards seek to recognise the achievements and contributions made by people within the Dingle and West Kerry community throughout the year. A number of individuals and organisations have been nominated in various categories including tourism, sport, culture and music. Founder of the awards, Arctic explorer and Beaufort native Mike O’Shea – who hopes to retrace the footsteps of Tom Crean to the South Pole this year – says the work of local people inspires him.
