Dingle have knocked holders South Kerry out of the Garvey’s Supervalu County Senior Football Championship, beating them by 12 points to 11. Bryan Sheehan had the opening score for South Kerry, a point on 4 minutes. South Kerry were 3 up by the 11 minute mark. Dingle had 3 early wides to show for their efforts but finally got on the scoreboard with a point in the 17th minute. They then cut the gap to the minimum before drawing level in the 20th minute. 4 minutes later South Kerry were back in front and they went on to stretch the advantage to 4. Dingle got two scores to halve the deficit to 0-7 to 0-5 at half-time. South Kerry had 2 points in as many minutes when play resumed. Dingle hit back once more, making it 0-9 to 0-8 nine minutes into the period. Bryan Sheehan made it a two point game once more but again Dingle pointed in response. Dingle levelled with 11 minutes remaining. Conor Geaney had Dingle in front for the first time 9 minutes from the finish. The next score did not arrive until 2 minutes from the end, with Conor Geaney responsible for this point also. Breandan Kelliher was sent off for Dingle in the final minute but Bryan Sheehan missed the subsequent free. In the dying seconds South Kerry took a quick free, Sean Cournane netting, but the referee called play back. Bryan Sheehan pointed the free and then the same player had a free to level proceedings. However, that fell short and Dingle progressed.
