Dingle Film Festival to honour family of Gregory Peck

Gregory PeckDingle Film Festival will make a special presentation to the family of Hollywoord legend Gregory Peck today (Saturday, February 6). The ceremony, marking the centenary of Gregory Peck’s birth, will take place in Dingle’s twin town Santa Barbara, California. Gregory Peck was born on April 5, 1916 and his grandmother, Catherine Ashe hailed from Minard, just outside Dingle. The Hollywood star was also related to Kerry 1916 patriot Tomás Ághas. The Peck Family will be presented with a Brian de Staic design based on the Aglish Pillar from Minard, now housed in the National Museum of Ireland. Past recipients of the film festival award include Laura Dern, Gabriel Byrne and Jim Sheridan.
