Two officials from the Department of Finance are to arrive in Listowel on Thursday to have preliminary meetings on decentralization. The officials are to view potential properties in the town that may be suitable buildings for their department. 50 civil servants will move from the capital to listowel from the department of finance and a further 50 each will go to Kilrush and Newcastle west.The Town Manager Michael McMahon as well as council members, auctioneers and solicitors will meet with officials. Radio Kerry news understands the Department is keeping an open mind with regard to office property available to them in the town.
