Decision due on Kilgarvan windfarm tomorrow.

A decision on the biggest ever windfarm for the county will be known tomorrow. Hibernian Wind Power wants to build 28 turbines in Killgarvan at a cost of 70 million euro. They’ll be 60 to 70 metres high and will have blades of up to 42 metres. Planners were putting the final touches to their decision before sending it out this evening. An Taisce have objected to the windfarm. Hibernian first lodged their application last October after holding consultations with local people. The company also built the controversial windfarm in County Galway which has been the subject of an investigation after a mudslide.
