The new County Manager is promising to discuss planning in an attempt to reduce the tension surrounding the issue. Martin Riordan took up his duties last week and has been meeting councillors and staff. Ahead of the local elections in June, councillors lodged over 80 section 140 motions. Since then, Fianna Fail have promised not to move any motions while Mr Riordan settles in. The new Manager says there needs to be dialogue.
