This count afresh arose following a legal challenge taken by Independent candidate Dan Kiely who narrowly missed out on a seat in the local elections of 2014. Fianna Fail’s John Brassil and Sinn Fein’s Robert Beasley were elected on the first count having exceeded the quota. The quota stands at 1,843 (down 2 on 2014) Count four involved the distribution of Katie Lucid McCabe’s 591 votes. The full result of count four is as follows: Aoife Thornton FG – 1820 (+183 ) Dianne Nolan SF – 1384 (+37 ) Liam Purtill FG – 1111 (+18 ) Jimmy Moloney FF – 1060 (+16 ) Dan Kiely IND- 1040 (+54 ) Michael O’Gorman IND – 985 (+45 ) Pat Leahy LAB – 912 (+ 118 ) Mike Kennelly FG – 891 (+15 ) Tim Buckley FG – 876 (+ 10 ) Tom Walsh IND-   718 (+7 )   Non transferable – 88 votes After count four Dan Kiely is 3 votes down on where he was on 2014 Jimmy Moloney is down 1 and Mike Kennelly is  down 2. In the final shake up in 2014 – just five votes separated these candidates. John Brassil’s first preference was down 7 votes on 2014 so his surplus will be keenly watched in this count. His surplus of 62 votes is now being distributed in count 5
