A legal definition should be provided to show what the difference is between a ‘wind farm’ and a ‘wind turbine’. Wind turbines are used to convert the wind’s kinetic energy to electricity and are described as such in the Planning Guidelines for Wind Energy Development for Planning Authorities 2006. In response Kerry County Council outlined that in essence “a single wind turbine does not constitute a wind farm”.
