A Killarney councillor is calling on An Post to issue ‘non-monetary specified’ stamps that can still be used if the price of a stamp increases. South Kerry Independent Alliance Cllr Michael Gleeson proposed the motion at Kerry County Council’s monthly meeting. Cllr Gleeson said it was an “irritant” for people when the price of stamps went up. He said a ‘non-monetary specified stamp’ – a stamp without a specific price value printed on it – would remain valid. The councillor added that An Post would not lose out, if stamps in people’s possession were already paid for.
