Councillor calls for new bounty scheme to tackle mink problem

A Kerry councillor has added his voice to calls for a new bounty system to help to curb the mink population in the county. Cllr Donal Grady says there is a growing problem with mink in the Killarney area. Donal Grady 1 He says they have been sighted near the site of the former Torc Hotel on the Park Road in the town. A bounty system several years ago – which offered those who killed the predatory animal the sum of €3 per mink – has expired.
