A Kerry County Councillor has called for a full safety report on rural national schools in the North Kerry area. Speaking at the monthly meeting of the Listowel Municipal District, Councillor Mike Kennelly reported a number of malfunctioning lights and overgrown hedges. He added road markings and warning signs outside some national schools also need improving. In response, Kerry County Council say the physical condition of signage and road-markings will be logged and evaluated. Councillor Kennelly asked for the report to be carried out in the coming months.
