A Kerry County Councillor has branded a special planning meeting as a waste of time. Cllr Toireasa Ferris left the meeting, which was held in council chambers on Monday saying the meeting was not what had been requested. She argued that an in camera meeting where specific cases could be discussed would have been more beneficial. Chief Executive of Kerry County Council Moira Murrell said she was agreeable to such a meeting but added she found the presentations gave great comfort that the local authority has robust planning enforcement. Cllr Aoife Thornton said she felt the meeting was hugely beneficial to her as a new councillor.
