Councillor asks for medicinal cannabis use in exceptional circumstances.

Medicinal cannabis should be allowed in exceptional circumstances according to Councillor Norma Moriarty. Norma Moriarty The Fianna Fail Councillor spoke of 6-year-old Ava Barry, who was diagnosed with Dravets Syndrome. The young girl suffers with chronic epilepsy, and has found there are no medications that will alleviate her condition–with the exception of cannabis oil. The motion was brought to the Kerry County Council monthly meeting and received unanimous support. Councillor Moriarty says some families have already gone to extreme lengths to find a solution.
