Kerry County Council will not be employing a full-time caretaker for Inch Beach despite appeals from a local councillor.
Fianna Fáil’s Michael O’Shea wants more parking, recreation and amenity facilities, and a full-time caretaker to observe the toilets and clean the Dingle Peninsula beach on a daily basis.
However, the council says the staffing requirements to manage the beach are considered adequate.
They’re currently drafting a beach management plan, which will include optimising existing car parking, and examining facilities for pedestrians.
The toilets on Inch will be open from the 21st of March to the 23rd of October, and outside of that over the St Patrick’s Day and October bank holiday weekends, during Christmas, and every Sunday.
