Killarney Muncipal District is working with the Court Service with regards to making the toilets in the Courthouse accessible to the public on court days. The court house in Killarney is owned by Kerry County Council. The issue of access to public toilets has arisen since the public toilets were removed at Fair Hill and a public recreation area was created. At the October meeting of the municipal district business owners and a representative from the Friary raised concerns about public urination and the use of private toilets in the area. Killarney Municipal District Manager Angela McAllen said many businesses have commended the council for the development at Fairhill and confirmed that there is no plan to replace the toilets there. The council is happy that there is adequate public toilet provision in Killarney and improved signage has been erected to direct people to them.
