Council explores providing free wi-fi in more Kerry tourist spots this summer

Kerry County Council is looking into providing free wi-fi in tourism areas. Wifi It’s part of the authority’s strategic objective and has been included in its submission to the Department of Energy, Communications and Natural Resources’ national broadband plan. Free wi-fi will also form a key element of the Kerry County Tourism Strategy 2016-2020, a meeting of the Listowel Municipal District has heard. A pilot project in four tourism areas in 2015 proved a great success and this will be extended further in 2016, if funding is available. The issue was raised at the meeting by Fianna Fáil’s Jimmy Moloney.
