Kerry County Council is in the final stages of discussion with relevant landowners in relation to the development of an amenity trail along the Big River in Tralee from Muing to Oakview. Sinn Fein Cllr Pa Daly sought an update on the project at the Tralee Municipal District monthly meeting. Kerry County Council said it was confident of securing the required agreements in the near future and the design of the trail from Oakview to the Killeen Road is substantially complete. The council further outlined sections of the walkway from Killeen Road up to Muing are still the subject of ongoing design worls and further discussions with landowners would be needed. The plan for the trail is to proceed to part 8 planning approval with a view to securing required funding to undertake works later this year.
