Committee considers increasing Dingle harbour dues.

The thorny issue of increasing harbour dues at Dingle Port is being considered by a sub committee of the harbour bord. An increase in the rate is required to take into account the increased costs in running the Port. It costs 200,000 euro a year to manage the facilities at Dingle and the Harbour Authority is under pressure from the Department of the Marine to regularise its schedule of charges. Three full time staff are employed running the port.
