Cllr Billy Leen is to send a sample from a 500 tonne pit of waste abandoned in a field in Cordal near Castleisland for independent testing. Cllr Leen is disputing laboratory results from the EPA for Kerry County Council which claim the waste is non hazardous. The contents of the 500 tonne pit were scheduled to be disposed of by a plant in Castleisland however it has gone into liquidation.Cllr Leen says the pit contains several harmful chemicals and if agitated would clear the entire area. Speaking on this mornings Kerry today he said he wants the council to remove it and he’s prepared to carry out his own laboratory tests on the pit.
Chair of Kerry Pro-Life, Cllr John Joe Culloty FF spoke about the removal by the council of posters for pro-life meetings. http://media.radiokerry.ie/upload/radiokerry/audio/2018_02_16_kcc.mp3
