Chief Executive of Radio Kerry denies purchase of radio licence

The Chief Executive of Radio Kerry has denied media reports that the station has purchased the radio licence operated by Shannon Side / Northern Sound. Recent reports suggested Radio Kerry made a bid for the station in the region of 6 – 8 million euros. Shannon Side and Northern Sound are based in the North West. Any changes in licensing structure must be approved by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland. Chief Executive of Radio Kerry Paul Byrne says the radio station has not purchased any other media outlet.
