Charity cycle taking place in South Kerry today in memory of local man

A charity cycle event is taking place in South Kerry today in memory of a local man who passed away suddenly last May.

John O’Shea worked locally as a mechanic and was heavily involved in the local community, including the Dromid Pearces football club, the Vintage Club, Killorglin Cycling Club, and the Irish Pilgrimage Trust Group 135.

Proceeds from the cycle are going to the Irish Pilgrimage Trust who organise trips to Lourdes at Easter for a group of youths and their carers.

There are two routes, a 40km and a 70 km route, both started at the Dromid Community Centre at 11am.

The routes will take in Dromid, Coars, Caherciveen, Waterville, Portmagee, the Glen and Ballinskelligs and will finish back in Dromid.

Motorists are asked to exercise caution whilst in the area.
