Cavan Dominating Kerry At Half Time

Cavan 1-7 Kerry 6pts at half time. Cavan started on the attack straight away but it just took them 4 minutes to register their first point. Cavans’ opening play was very defensive and they played from the back line. Cavan got their second score but Kerry’s Brian Crowley received a blow to the nose and was taken off for a short while. Paul Kennelly with the left leg put the ball over the bar to get Kerrys’ first point. Cavan had a goal chance after a mistake on the back line when the ball hoped over his head and the Keeper came out but Danny Wrenn soldered back and committed himself to deny Cavan a goal. The game started to open up. Paul Kennelly got his second point for Kerry just outside the 45. Cavan looked like the better team, taking full advantage of the space, moving the ball swiftly, dominating midfield and taking their points. At this stage Kerry’s defense started to settle a bit more and were getting in front of their marker although being down by a point. Cavans’ goal came on the 20th minute when Tom Hayes sold 2 dummies and hit a rocket of a shot to end up in the back of the Kerry net. Cavan finished out the first half adding more points to their tally. At half time it ended Kerry 6pt Cavan 1-7.
