Cathaoirleach of KCC calls for action on spiralling insurance costs

“Young motorists have no chance”.

That’s according to the Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council who raised the issue of car insurance costs at the monthly meeting of the local authority.

Cllr Michael O’Shea called on the current government to immediately tackle the spiralling cost of all insurance.


He said there is little competition in this country and he believes the increased costs are solely an Irish issue and are not replicated in other countries.

Meanwhile, both young and old drivers are being represented today at a public protest over the rising cost of Irish motor insurance.
