Oscar winning actress Cate Blanchett has said she would love a role in Star Wars, but only if filmed on Sceilig Mhichíl. The Australian actress, who starred as Veronica Guerin, said the Skellig Islands were like “something out of a fantasy, soaring out of the ocean”. The Irish Independent reports the actress said she’d enjoy a role in JJ Abrams continuation of the George Lucas conceived franchise, “but it would have be on Skellig Michael”. Elsewhere, crews are assembling on the Dingle Peninsula ahead of filming for Star Wars at Ceann Sibeál and Dún Chaoin. Sources close to production have indicated that actors are due to begin shooting their scenes in West Kerry around May 20th.
