Castleisland man charged with offences while on suspended sentence

A Castleisland man is to be returned to a Limerick court to face charges allegedly committed while he was on a suspended sentence. Gavel 1 Batty Coffey of Island Village, Pound Road, Castleisland was before Tralee Circuit Court where he had previously received a suspended sentence for a charge of violent disorder. The court heard he had appeared at Newcastle West District Court in relation to traffic offences at Glin, Co. Limerick and was returned to the circuit court because of the suspended sentence. Judge Tom O’Donnell said that given the nature of the offences, he would refer the matter back to the next sitting of Newcastle West District Court.
