Calls on Government to track down Irish centenerians living abroad

Age Action Ireland says the Government should liaise with British and American authorities in tracking down Irish centenarians who emigrated. The government is looking at revisiting the practicalities of making the centenarian`s bounty available to Irish people living abroad when they reach 100. The issue came to the fore after Sneem woman Hanoria O Leary was refused the cheque for 2,540 euro from Aras An Uachtaran, despite the fact that she had lived in Sneem for 75 years.
