A Kerry Councillor has called for the speed limit in Glenflesk Village to be reduced.

Councillor Maura Healy-Rae brought the motion to a recent monthly meeting of the Killarney Municipal District, asking for the speed limit be lowered from 100 kilometres per hour in the interests of health and safety.

There are currently traffic calming measures in place in the village on the N22 Killarney to Cork route.

In response, Kerry County Council says speed limits throughout the county are currently in review, and Glenflesk Village will be taken into consideration by Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
