As nurses in the county prepare for their lunchtime protests at Kerry General their union is calling on The Taoiseach to declare the A and E crisis a national emergency. The organisation claims that many hospital beds remains closed despite the ongoing crisis. Last night four patients spent the night on trolleys in Kerry General. The INO’s Deputy General Secretary Dave Hughes says the number of people on trolleys will not decrease with the current lack of response to the situation.
