A former chairperson of the Irish Hotels Federation has called for the Queen to be invited to Killarney as part of the k250 celebrations. Kathleen M Regan Sheppard says she will ask the Mayor of the town to extend an invitation to the Royal family to send a representative.Queen Victoria came to Killarney in the 1860’s and is famed with making it a popular destination among British royals. According to Kathleen O Regan Sheppard the people of Killarney are the longest serving hosts of tourism in Ireland and a royal visit would have enormous benefits for the town.
