Sinn Fein`s Martin Ferris is calling on the Tanaiste Mary Harney to visit the County following today`s announcement of job losses in Listowel. 28 workers at Imperial Stag in the town are to lose their jobs. The 28 jobs are to be lost in the manufacturing operation. The company which manufactures pocket knives and cutting tools for DIY gardening has been in Listowel for 43 years. The job losses will come as a huge blow to the area. 13 staff are to remain at the plant in warehousing, European sales and production line. Negotiations on the redundancy terms have already begun with employee representatives. American Directors visited the factory earlier this month, where the meeting was described as routine by Manager Matt Woulfe.
