There are calls for a traffic flow management plan for Listowel to reduce congestion in the town.
Sinn Féin Cllr Dianne Nolan raised the issue at the recent Listowel Municipal District meeting.
Kerry County Council says while a traffic management plan would be desirable, it would be premature pending the completion of the Listowel Bypass.
Cllr Nolan says however, that she doesn’t accept that response from the council, as she can’t see a Listowel Bypass being built in the next 10 years.
She wants something done now to deal with traffic congestion in Listowel, and feels the works currently underway on William Street which have diverted traffic, have brought the issue to the fore.
