Calls for camera phones to be replaced for students.

A school principal in the county has called on mobile phone providers to replace camera phones for students whose school’s ban them. The call follows yesterday’s revelations that a pornographic image of a schoolgirl has been sent to hundreds of students in Kerry via text message. The picture showing a partially clothed teenage girl in school uniform in a sexually compromising position is being passed around with camera mobile phones. Principal of Listowel Community College Sean McCarthy says such phones are banned in his school as they’re a disruption. He’s now asking mobile phone operators to provide students with alternative phones.
