Members of Kerry Fire and Rescue Service units around the county, had a busy night last night and this morning, as several wild fires took place. Four fire service units were tasked to Inch beach, while Castlemaine also needed four units. Two units dealt with fires in Castlecove and two more units tackled Gorse fires in Emlaghmore, Balllinskelligs. There were also call outs to Corbally, Toormore Caherciveen, Barraduff, Ballydonoghue, and Ballyheigue. It’s illegal for land owners to burn between the 1st of March and 31st of August. The recent mild weather resulted in several wild fires taking hold in different parts of the county, with some coming dangerously close to property.
