The Aqua Dome is reporting a trading profit for the first time in years. The Tralee facility’s annual report shows an increase in income and a reduction in expenditure and shows a trading profit of almost 20,000 euro in the year up to April 30th 2015. Chairman of the Aqua Dome Denis Reen says after some difficult years there seems to be some green shoots in the economy and the facility has a modest but welcome trading profit. He says the change from oil to gas delivered the savings they hoped for at the Aqua Dome. The facility is now 21 years old and due to an increasing demand for new plant and equipment the Aqua Dome will close for the month of December to undertake this work. Mr Reen says they are also aware of the litigation culture that continues to haunt them and could eventually close the Aqua Dome. Mr Reen paid tribute to the 25 staff working at the Aqua Dome.
