Annie Power won’t be defending her Stan James Champion Hurdle title at Cheltenham this year – after suffering a leg injury.
Trainer Willie Mullins has told ‘The Racing Post’ that the injury is not related to the one sustained in 2015 but confirmed it’ll definitely rule his stare mare out of Cheltemham.
Mullins says it could possibly be the end of the nine-year-old’s season but “it is too early to say for sure at this stage.”
The champion trainer is now expected to gear Faugheen for a title at the Champion Hurdle in March.
